Transfixed- MFA Advancement Show

The installation Transfixed explores society’s evolving relationship with technology. It is a representation of the feeling of being caught up in a screen, to the point where the figures are isolated from anything other than the lightbox in front of them. Their disconnection from the other figures around them is meant to evoke the sense of loneliness that can come from withdrawing into the media they choose to consume.

This project is not about how much time people spend looking at screens. Rather, it is a reflection on how the type of media chosen and the way in which people consume it can affect their relationships to others. This is something that happens across generations.
