Disconnect- MFA Thesis

Disconnect explores the autistic experience of feeling out of place in just about every part of life. It is a narrative of existing in a world that isn’t made for you. I break this concept into four categories throughout the exhibition: Disconnect from the self, from others, from expectations, and from the world. These are feelings that non-autistic people can also experience, but for many autistic people, this is an ever-present and ongoing reality.
